As a tourism manager you sell the world both online and offline. You design trips, purchase at sharp rates and establish global contacts. International Tourism Management is your boarding pass to the future.
Do you love exploring new countries and different cultures and do you have commercial and leadership skills? International Tourism Management is the perfect programme for you. After completing this bachelor’s degree, you will know how to compose trips and promote these (online). As a tourism expert with a background in e-commerce, you might e.g. work for a tour operator, but you can also turn your own business into a huge success. Your knowledge of event management allows you to organise the most unique international (business) events and incentives.
The sector
Tourism continues to grow worldwide and it is of crucial importance to our global economy. New business models and the advent of online entrepreneurship have reshaped the sector drastically. With regard to products, there are constant new developments; consumers are always looking for unique experiences. In addition to package and group trips, there is a growing demand for custom trips and the sector faces some disruptors in the market. A world in motion!
BA in 3 or 4 years
The International Tourism Management programme (CROHO-number 34927) educates you for the professional competence level of Tourism & Recreation Manager in three or four years. This tourism degree allows you to use the internationally acknowledged title of Bachelor of Arts (BA). Also, you can earn your Associate degree for this programme in just 2 years.
Small classes
You attend theoretical lectures in groups of no more than circa 16 students, while practical lectures are given to groups of 10. The weighted average for the International Tourism Management programme at all Tio locations during the previous academic year was 10 students per group.

Diploma
This International Tourism Management bachelor’s degree has been accredited by the NVAO and educates students in three or four years for the professional competence level in Tourism & Recreation Management (ISAT-code: 34927). Because of the rapid changes taking place in the tourism sector, there is a strong demand for young professionals with in-depth knowledge of e-commerce.
There are many roads open to you when you earn your International Tourism Management bachelor’s degree. What about working as a manager sustainable tourisme at TUI or a project manager at Zoover. You can also work as a product manager or an (online) marketer.
Toelatingseisen
In order to be admitted to this bachelor’s programme, you need 3 documents:
- You need a high school diploma that is equivalent to a Dutch pre-university high school diploma.
- In addition, you need an English test, which proves your English proficiency is at (or exceeds) the level of CEFR: ≥ B2. Tio accepts one of the following three qualifications as proof of English proficiency: TOEFL: iBT ≥ 80 points (taken at an official examination centre), IELTS academic: ≥ 6.0 overall, or Cambridge exam: ≥ 160 points or a Cambridge First Certificate.
In the following cases, students are exempted from the test requirement: students with an IB diploma, American High School Diploma (if accredited in the US, please check with your school board), GCSE certificate for English First Language or English as a second language, or students from the following countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Malta, Singapore. - Valid passport (non-EU/EEA) or IC (EU).
Once you are able to provide the above 3 documents and after approval of Tio, you are all set!

Tuition fee per year: € 22.250,-
Enrollment fee (one-off): € 95,-
The tuition fee includes the cost of study materials, the study trips and projects.
