Over deze opleiding
The European Competition Law and Regulation programme is designed to prepare students with the essential skills indispensable for a professional or academic career in business law.
European Competition Law and Regulation focuses on the European public regulatory framework, which is applicable when doing business in Europe. The European Union (EU) Treaties define the rights and obligations of undertakings and individuals in terms of the free movement of goods, services, capital and persons across the Union. Common policies operate to support these freedoms, including competition rules and policies governing corporate behaviour. The programme provides a broad spectrum of topics including European competition law, European company law, the liberalisation rules for the EU telecommunications and energy markets, EU banking and insurance directives, EU public procurement, EU social policy, intellectual property rights and private international transactions.
The quality of the programme is enriched by the University of Amsterdam's combined strength in both law and economics through the Amsterdam Centre for Law & Economics (ACLE), which houses over 20 scholars who do research at the interface between these fields. The programme focuses on the European public regulatory framework that encountered when doing business in the EU.
